Biography
I work as an Adiunkt / Assistant Professor (research and teaching) at the Institute of Information and Communication Research at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń; I defended a doctorate in Social Communication and Media Studies (Social Sciences); I am a graduate of the Library, and Information Science and Sociology mentioned above. I also completed postgraduate studies "User Experience - designing applications, products, and Services" at the WSB school in Gdańsk. I teach students about UX, information architecture, design thinking, and research.
My research interests are focused on online communities - their functioning, internal and external communication, and meeting information needs by their members, as well as user-centered design, user experience, and social reading.
I am the founder, chairman, and recently also the guardian of the "UX scientific circle." I organized several scientific conferences, including the 1st (2019), 2nd (2020), and 4th (2022) National Scientific Conference WIAD (as part of the worldwide Information Architecture Day) and 1st (3rd in total) International Scientific Conference WIAD in 2021. I belong to the International Scientific Society ISKO and the Editorial Board of the scientific journal "TSB."
In 2023-2024, I lead the User Experience sub-team (planning research and evaluation of ET/VR applications in terms of user experience - UX) as part of the Bitscope project, financed by the National Science Center under the CHIST-ERA IV program, which received funding under the Financial Agreement No. 857925 under the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Funding Program.
