Biography

I'm interested in the water and nutrient uptake dynamics of forests. To what extend do roots reach for either water or nutrients horizontally and vertically? How much is nitrogen uptake influenced by mass flow? How do trees compete for nutrients with other players in the ecosystem and are mycorrhizal networks moving nutrients around to provide them to their tree hosts?
