Biography

Mirjam Paales was born in Tartu, Estonia, on April 17, 1986. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Education, specializing in mathematics and CS education. Currently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. at the Institute of Computer Science.
Her teaching portfolio includes various courses in discrete mathematics, introductory programming, and databases. Presently, she focuses on guiding first-year CS students through the orientation course.
Her research interests lie in the adjustment of CS students to university life, particularly in psychometric measures predicting academic success.
