Biography

The isolation and identification of rhizospheric/endophytic bacteria with the ability to mitigate biotic and abiotic stresses and/or promote plant growth (plant growth promoting bacteria, PGPBs) and the characterization of the underlying molecular and metabolic mechanisms (detection/assays of metabolites involved in plant beneficial effects). In vitro/in vivo tests of microbial bio-pesticides/biofertilizers. Genomic, phylogenomic and pan-genomic investigations applied to agriculture and biotechnologies.
Principal contribution as a lab member : the introduction of bacterial genomics to the research works of the LBSM lab (descriptive and comparative genomics, genome mining, phylogenomics and pan-genomic analyses).
Principal contributions as a teacher: 1st lecturer of bioinformatics (introductory lecture), development of practical work (PW) of microbial biotechnologies (University of Sidi Bel Abbes); proposal for molecular biology practical works (DNA extraction & agarose gel electrophoresis; SDS-PAGE), practical works (bioinformatics) applied to plant genomics (in English), the 1st research proposals for master theses on PGPBs at the University of Djelfa; research proposals on bacterial phylogeny and genomics (at the ENS de Kouba-Algiers and the University of Djelfa), enrichment of general microbiology practical works by introducing bacterial phylogeny, organization of bioinformatics/genomics workshops.
