Biography

MC Boutron-Ruault is a medical doctor (internist and gastroenterologist) with a PhD in nutrition and an HDR (French diploma that corresponds to Ability to Direct Research) in Epidemiology, she is a senior Inserm (French institute for medical research) researcher with the title of Research Director. She is mostly conducting research in the field of epidemiology of non-communicable diseases, cancer but also other conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, mostly in relation to nutrition and to hormones/reproductive factors in women. She is PI in the EPIC European cohort study where she represents the French E3N cohort, on which most of her research is based.
