Prof. Dr. Ronald Deckert

Biography

Prof. Dr. Ronald Deckert is Professor of Business Administration and Engineering and Dean of the Department of Technology at HFH · Hamburger Fern-Hochschule. He is educated in Natural Sciences (Physics) as well as in Economics and Social Sciences and engaged as expert for several organisations e. g. two times for the German Council of Science and Humanities concerning distance learning and education. He has successfully accompanied nationwide and locally effective reform processes as well as the development of university structures and the accreditation and introduction of a large number of technical and economic courses. He is involved in the Hamburg "Master Plan Education for Sustainable Development 2030" and in its implementation as a regional contribution to the UNESCO decade related to Education for Sustainable Development. Prof. Dr. Deckert works temporarily as Lieutenant Colonel of the Reserve at the Military Academy of the German Armed Forces and he is experienced in supervisory and advisory board functions in technical and social organizations; for instance with Hände für Kinder (https://www.haendefuerkinder.de). Before working as a university lecturer, he worked for many years as a consultant, primarily for federal ministries and research institutions on goal-oriented control in strategic management.

Prof. Dr. Ronald Deckert ist als Professor für Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen und Dekan des Fachbereichs Technik an der HFH · Hamburger Fern-Hochschule tätig. Er ist naturwissenschaftlich sowie wirtschafts- und sozialwissenschaftlich ausgebildet und als Gutachter und Sachverständiger – beispielsweise zweimal für den Deutschen Wissenschaftsrat insbesondere als Fernstudienexperte – tätig. Er hat bundesweit und lokal wirksame Reformprozesse ebenso wie den Aufbau von Hochschulstrukturen und die Akkreditierung und Einführung einer Vielzahl von technisch und wirtschaftswissenschaftlich ausgerichteten Studiengängen erfolgreich mit begleitet. Er ist am Hamburger "Masterplan Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung 2030“ und an dessen Umsetzung als regionaler Beitrag zur UNESCO-Dekade Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung beteiligt. Prof. Dr. Deckert ist zeitweise als Oberstleutnant der Reserve für die Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr aktiv und ist erfahren in Aufsichtsrats- und Beiratsfunktionen in technisch und sozial geprägten Organisationen; beispielsweise bei Hände für Kinder (https://www.haendefuerkinder.de). Vor seiner Tätigkeit als Hochschullehrer war er langjährig in der Beratung vor allem von Bundesministerien und Forschungseinrichtungen zu zielorientierter Steuerung im strategischen Management tätig.
