Biography
Dr. Socas Rodríguez finished her Bachelor`s degree in Chemistry in 2011 at the University of La Laguna (ULL). She carried out her PhD IN Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (2012-2017) in the international modality obtaining the Extraordinary Prize by the ULL. During this period, she realised two stays at the Institute of Chemical Technology in Prague (Czech Republic). She got a postdoctoral research position at the GTG in Lund University (Sweden) supported by a fellow funding by Carl Trygger Foundation (2019-2020). In May 2020 she joined to the Foodomics Group (CIAL-CSIC) as a postdoctoral researcher. Since October 2021 she is working as Assistant Professor at the ULL. Dr. Socas-Rodríguez has published 15 book chapters and 60 articles (JCR), including 12 research articles related to innovation in education, and has presented 150 communications in national and international conferences, obtaining several awards, participating as plenary and keynote speaker in several of them. Likewise, she is a usual reviewer of important journals in the fields of Analytical Chemistry and Food Sciences for the prestigious editorials Elsevier, Wiley or Royal Chemical Society. She is member of the Editorial Board of 7 different journals from the editorials De Gruyter, MPDI or Bentham Sciences and has also participated as Guess Editor of 8 special issues related to sustainable methodologies. She has been member of the organising committee of two international conferences (ITP2013 and SECyTA2013) and member of the advisory committee of the regional conference XV CESQ in several editions. Her research activity has been focused on the determination of organic contaminants in agro-food and environmental matrices applying sustainable methodologies hyphenated with mass spectrometry. During her postdoctoral studies she extended her knowledge to the use of supercritical fluids and biological samples, as well as the safety evaluation of valorised food by-products and the study of bioactivity in NADESs extracts.
