Biography
Ondřej Slabý (*1981) is Professor and Head of the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno. He works as a research group leader at the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) at Masaryk University. He is the Chairman of the Czech Health Research Council, Advisor to the Minister of Health for Science and Research, Vice-Chairman of the Expert Panel for Medical and Health Sciences of the M17+ Methodology of the Government Council for Research, Development and Innovation. From 2020-2021, he served as the Government Commissioner for Health Science and Research. Prof. Slabý's research interests include cancer genomics with a special focus on the potential use of new findings in diagnostics and advanced therapeutics (h-index 46, total number of citations without self-citations > 7500). He is board certified in Clinical Genetics and is a pioneer of the concept of precision oncology in the Czech Republic.
