Biography

Inês Direito is Assistant Researcher at the Center for Mechanical Technology and Automation (TEMA), Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Aveiro (Portugal). She is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Engineering Education, University College London (United Kingdom). Inês has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Aveiro, an MSc in Cognitive Sciences and a Licenciatura in Psychology from the University of Minho. Her research interests include empathy and emotions in engineering education; gender, diversity, and inclusion in engineering; skills development and career pathways of engineering students. She is Associate Editor of JEE (Journal of Engineering Education), Member of the SEFI Board of Directors (European Society for Engineering Education), and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
