Biography

Since 1999, Mahmud Rezaei has been a researcher, university professor, and faculty member at Islamic Azad University (IAU), involved in both the architecture and urban planning/design departments. He has taught at various universities and has served as the head of the Urban Design and Planning Departments for MA and Ph.D. programs at the IAU Colleges of Architecture and Urban Studies, including its branches in Iran and the UAE (Dubai IAU in Knowledge Village and Dubai Academic City).

In addition to his roles at IAU, Professor Rezaei has held several visiting professorships at international universities in the fields of architecture, landscape design, urban design, and planning, including an appointment at the University of Sharjah. Since 2004, he has actively participated in international architecture and urban design practices.

Dr. Mahmud Rezaei has also conducted research on Middle Eastern cities and has published numerous articles in scholarly journals related to this subject. He has received several research and book awards for his work on topics such as design processes, theories and methods of architectural design and city planning, walkability, urban morphology, and public urban spaces.
