Biography
Dr Maria J. Ruedas-Rama finished her degree in Chemistry at the University of Jaen (Spain), and obtained her Ph.D. degree in Spectroscopic flow-through sensors at the same University, in 2005. She spent three and half years as a post-doctoral research assistant at the Institute of Biotechnology of the University of Cambridge (U.K.) within the group of Prof. Lisa Hall. At the Hall’s group, Dr Ruedas-Rama developed several particle-based fluorescent nanosensors, including polymer particle and Quantum Dots, for the determination of ions and other molecules of high biological interest. In 2008 Dr. Ruedas-Rama incorporated to the Department of Physical Chemistry (Faculty of Pharmacy) of the University of Granada (Spain) to open up new intracellular Quantum Dots nanosensors research lines, in particular with time resolved fluorescence techniques. She is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and her main areas of expertise are spectroscopic nanosensors, Quantum Dots nanoparticles, steady-state and time resolved fluorescence techniques, and intracellular imaging microscopy
