Biography
I was born in Catalonia, where my paternal family is from. However, a significant part of my life has been spent in Argentina. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (Argentina, 2008) and a PhD in Psychology (Argentina, 2014).
My doctoral thesis, about the teaching of Bioethics through the medical series House MD, was later turned into a book.
In Buenos Aires, I participated in various research projects, under the direction of Juan Jorge Michel Fariña. I led the accredited project “Thinking Cinema: The Narrative of Films and TV Series as a Methodological Framework for Addressing Complex Problems” in 2018.
For 11 years, I was a professor at the University of Buenos Aires, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Ethics and Human Rights, Legal Psychology, Ethics and Values, and Cinema and Psychology. Additionally, I have been a guest professor of Bioethics in Barcelona, Girona, Palma de Mallorca, and Colombia.
In 2018, I returned to Catalonia for a postdoctoral stay at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, with the Research Group in Experimental and Health Sciences (GRECS), under the direction of Dr. Josep-Eladi Baños. Following this highly rewarding experience, I permanently settled in the city of Vic, and since 2019, I am a Researcher and Professor at the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya.
I am a member of the research group on Methodology, Methods, Models and Outcomes of Health and Social Sciences (M3O), and I teach Bioethics in the Medicine degree program (Faculty of Medicine) and in the Physiotherapy degree program (Faculty of Health and Welfare Sciences).
My main research interests are now qualitative research, cinema studies, TV series, as well as their use as a teaching aid in educational innovation. I have specialized in the methodology of cinemeducation, which involves the use of films and TV series -specially medical dramas- as educational tools to facilitate learning and discussion about complex subjects and ethical dilemmas in a more engaging and relatable manner.
