Biography

I received the B.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering (with honours), the B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering, the M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering, and the Ph.D. degree (Cum Laude and with international mention) in the field of “Information and Communication Technologies” from the University of Granada (Spain) in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2014, respectively.

My main field of research is focused on the development of portable and low-cost electronic instrumentation combined with either commercial sensors or custom-developed optical chemical sensors for biomedical, environmental and food analysis and monitoring. Currently, I am part of the “Electronic and Chemical Sensing Solutions – ECSens” research group, as Associate Professor in the UGR since April 2022.

Some of my different research areas are gas sensing, chemical sensing, microfluidics, multispectral systems, and biomedical signal analysis.
