Biography

Dr. Sandra Brosnan is a Lecturer in Accounting in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems in Munster Technological University Cork, Ireland. Previously Sandra lectured at Cork University Business School, University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. Pursuing her interest in the multidisciplinary nature of intellectual capital, Sandra’s research interests include recognition and management of intellectual capital from the different perspectives, lifeworlds, language and social realities of accounting and HR disciplines in organisational lifeworlds; disclosures of intellectual capital in annual reports; digital disruption and accounting; Integrated Reporting; Sustainability; and various contemporary issues in financial reporting.

Sandra in addition to her co-authors attained Joint Best Paper Award at EIASM, the 13th Interdisciplinary Workshop on Intangibles and Intellectual Capital, Ancona, Italy Sept 21-22, 2017. This paper was subsequently invited to publish in a special issue of the Journal of Management and Governance and has been successfully published.

Sandra and her co-authors have recently published "Digital Futures for Accountants" in Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting.

Sandra currently has a number of working papers with various co-authors including “Developments in Intellectual Capital disclosures of the top 20 FTSE 100 companies over ten years”; “Impacts of Digital Technologies on Accounting and Decision-Making”; “Beyond accounting: on the performative research limits of tacit background knowing; ‘not-knowledge’, in organisational lifeworlds”; and “Sustainability in the Irish retail sector: an examination of the sustainability agendas adopted by leading Irish retailers”.
