Biography
Alison Bashford is Scientia Professor of History, University of New South Wales, Sydney. She is Director of the Laureate Centre for History & Population. Previously she was Vere Harmsworth Professor of Imperial and Naval History, University of Cambridge and Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge. She is Fellow of the British Academy. She is author of The Huxleys: An Intimate History of Evolution which was shortlisted for the Cundill History Prize, 2023. Alison Bashford was awarded the Dan David Laureate Prize for history of medicine in 2021.
