Biography

My research has addressed a range of questions in evolutionary biology, mostly by means of ancient DNA (aDNA), population genetics, phylogenetics and comparative genomics. First trained as a molecular biologist, I soon became proficient in computational biology and statistical modeling. My group develops integrative approaches in aDNA research, promoting the field of palaeomics by the merger of biochemistry, molecular biology, genomics and computational biology.
