Biography
Francisco Jiménez Calderón (BA, MA and PhD, University of Extremadura) is a teacher and researcher at the University of Extremadura (Spain). He teaches mainly in the MA in Spanish as a Foreign Language Teaching. He also serves as Head of the Institute of Spanish as a Foreign Language of the University of Extremadura, and he is a member of the board of directors of the Association of Spanish as a Foreign Language Teaching (ASELE). His research interests and publications focus on Spanish vocabulary acquisition, implementation of lexical approaches to Spanish as a foreign language teaching, Spanish for specific purposes and analysis of discursive genres in Spanish. He is co-editor of New perspectives on the acquisition and teaching of Spanish vocabulary (Routledge, 2015), as well as author of numerous book chapters and journal articles in top-ranked venues.
