Biography

Educator, expert in Educational Leadership and Innovation, specializing in Educational Technology and School Management, she has experience and a certification in QLN brain-based teaching methodologies. Throughout her career as INICIA Educación’s portfolio director and founding director of Instituto 512, she has specialized in Leadership and Management Competences and Leadership for Management Development with a focus on Latin America.

She was a university professor at the Universidad Católica Santo Domingo and the Universidad Iberoamericana, she is currently a professor of programs that are lead in partnership with various institutions by INICIA Educación and Instituto 512, advisor of educational programs for the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic and co-creator of multiple solutions for the improvement of education from the early childhood levels to primary through the alliances and projects of the institution she currently leads. She is part of the commission for the strengthening and expansion of professional technical education in the Dominican Republic under national policy guidelines and belongs to the commission to review the qualifications framework for the implications of secondary education in the country, member of the national pact for education and member of the national chapter of the Coalition for Teaching Excellence.

She is a member of the investment strategy council of INICIA Educación, and is currently member by designation of the national presidency of the council of the National Teacher Training Institute, National Pedagogic University of the Dominican Republic. She is a founding member of Leading Education, a network of young entrepeneurs for the transformation of education in Latin America and is part of the management of the Coalition for Teaching Excellence in Latin America together with The Dialogue and Varkey Foundation.

Ángela is the founder of the 512 Community that welcomes more than 20 thousand teachers from the Dominican Republic and Latin America, offering from this network the opportunity for continuous professional development, relationship management in the education sector, training, research and consultancy, adding quality, relevance and consistency.

She currently leads a team of 25 people, and a network of around 80 local and international collaborators, facilitators and external consultants, to run the operation of Instituto 512.

She is the founder of 512 Congress, which for 6 years has brough together experts from all over the world, making the issue of education relevant and placing it forefront on the national agenda with topics that range from quality, leadership and innovation.

She is the editor of the 512 INFORMA magazine. A magazine that specializes in education that is published annually in both physical and digital versions, with interviews, articles and research with dissemination in the Dominican Republic and Latin America.

She leads the program “Desde el corazón de la Educación”, currently available in YouTube and Spotify, publishing interviews and valuable conversations in the education sector for dissemination, reflection and debate, always promoting quality and continuous improvement.

Angela is passionate, committed and dedicated to improving the quality of education in the Dominican Republic and the northern region of Latin America. She is convinced that education in the Dominican Republic and the northern region of Latin America. She is convinced that education is the only way to improve the quality of life, and the positive transformation of society in any context.
