Advance Notice: All ORCID websites, including the Registry (Public and Member APIs and the user interface), orcid.org and members.orcid.org, will be unavailable from 2pm UTC on December 15 for up to eight hours for a scheduled hardware upgrade. We apologize for any inconvenience.

ORCID is a community-led organization, established - with the help of our launch partners - by and for the research community.  At the center of everything we do are our users, our members, and the other organizations with which we collaborate. To be successful in the pursuit of our strategic vision, ORCID needs to be embedded into the communities we serve, with effective outreach and communication, good technical integrations, and iDs being collected and connected wherever researchers create or re-use information about their research.

We strive to remain a lean organization, with a small dedicated staff delivering services to millions of users and hundreds of members all around the world. We can only achieve this by working in close partnership with our community.

Our partners share our vision for a better connected, more transparent research ecosystem.  Everything we do is informed by the needs of our users: researchers, scholars, innovators, and other community contributors.  We work closely with fellow infrastructure providers, standards bodies, our members and integrators. We benefit from the strategic support of leading research organizations and policy leaders.

Our network of partners comprises our members and consortia leads, formal partnerships between ORCID and organizations who have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, and collaborations with organizations or individuals who are participating in our community projects or working groups or projects such as our Adoption and Integration program.
