More good news as UK national consortium Jisc signs agreement with ORCID to enable universities to benefit from reduced ORCID membership costs and enhanced technical support - over 50 set to join in 2015 with more to follow.

Great news for the Italian research community - ORCID is being implemented nationally! Under the auspices of ANVUR and CRUI (the Conference of Italian University Rectors), the Cineca consortium will be responsible for the implementation, and their members - 70 universities and four research centers - will be the first to implement ORCID.

The 2015 ORCID-CASRAI Codefest was a great success. Developers from eight different countries participated virtually and in person. After one and a half days of coding and cross-team collaboration, we were delighted to see live demonstrations of nine great projects. The recent ORCID-CASRAI conference attracted 170 or so researchers, research administrators, funders, vendors, publishers, and more. We enjoyed two days of thought-provoking presentations, interesting discussions, and valuable networking - all in the beautiful surroundings of the University of Barcelona. Peer review is an essential component of the research and scholarly lifecycle. And yet, researcher peer review activities are rarely acknowledged as a fundamental contribution to research. ORCID announces our new membership team: Josh Brown, Matthew Buys, Nobuko Miyairi (as of July 1), and Lilian Pessoa.
