The Royal Society Te Apārangi manages ORCID in New Zealand. We are an independent non-profit organisation set up by an Act of Parliament in 1867. Our function today is to advance and promote science, technology and humanities. This includes social sciences, engineering and applied science. To do this we work with educators, students, researchers, the public, and government. We have strong involvement with research communities around New Zealand and manage decision making around a number of research funds including the country’s main financial support programme for blue-skies research -- the Marsden fund. We also run eight scholarly academic journals and award medals and Fellowship of the Society to the nation’s top scholars across all disciplines.
