To uniquely identify and connect researchers to their contributions and affiliations, ORCID takes both a global and a local approach. And so does our Collect & Connect program. We work with organizations across communities and countries to ensure a consistent user experience, while also respecting local expectations. Our goal is to foster transparent and trustworthy connections and make it easier for researchers to share information about their work.

Stakeholders met on 22 January to discuss the organization identifier initiative. They established an interim governing body and asked ORCID, DataCite, and Crossref to draft a proposal describing governance and qualifications for partners and registry hosting.

One of the highlights of our first consortia workshop was the opportunity to recognize the great work that our consortia partners have been doing to promote ORCID adoption in their region. Here we share the awards made to five consortia who have gone above and beyond in their support for ORCID.
