Happy New Year! What are our resolutions for the new year? Implementing the first phase of our strategic plan, which in 2018 focus on funders and funding workflows: make it easier for researchers to share information, ORBIT the world with funders, build out our data model to support affiliation assertions, and enable auto-population of standard fields on funding application forms. Join us on the journey!

In 2017, we made progress on several fronts. We welcomed almost 200 new members, including new consortia in Canada, South Africa, Norway, and the US. We have over 4 million registered users. We nurtured working groups on ORCID in Books, User Facilities, and Organization Identifiers. And as always, we released new features and were integrated into many more workflows, making life just that much better for researchers.

Today we’re launching the Arabic localization of the ORCID Registry user interface. It’s a fully community-sourced localization, and our first right-to-left language. Our thanks to the dedicated team of translators who made this possible.
