Biography
Dr Helena Li is a Lecturer at UTS Business School at the University of Technology Sydney. She received her PhD in 2018 from Zhejiang University, China and was a visiting scholar at The University of Sydney and The University of Melbourne for one year during her PhD candidature. She is currently the subject coordinator for two undergraduate subjects: international business and transnational management.
Helena Li's research has two main streams that jointly investigate the financial and social impact of firms' strategies: 1) international business, mainly focus on how experiential learning, top managers and institutional environment shape multinational company’s various internationalization strategies; 2) strategy (emerging interest): firm-state interactions in emerging economies, particular focus on the role of firm leaders and government leaders in firms’ innovation strategy and nonmarket strategies (e.g., donations, sustainability strategy). Her research has appeared in achievements include International Business Review, Journal of International Management, Journal of Production Innovation Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Emerging Markets Review, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management and Asia Business & Management.
Helena Li also served as one of the chief investigators for several research projects on Australian firms’ managerial capabilities and performance funded by the Australian government, and Chinese cross-border acquisitions supported by the National Science Fund in China. She continues to review for prestigious journals in the field of IB and management in general such as Global Strategy Journal, Journal of International Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Management Organization Review, and Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
