Marco Porta

Biography

I am full professor at the University of Pavia (Pavia, Italy), where I teach Web and Multimedia Technologies in the master's program in Computer Engineering (Faculty of Engineering) and Web Design and Technologies in the interdepartmental bachelor's program CIM (Communication, Innovation, Multimedia). I have a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Politechnic of Milan (Italy) and a Ph.D. in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Pavia.

I am a member of the research group of the Computer Vision & Multimedia Lab (Laboratorio di Visione Artificiale) of the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering (Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale e dell'Informazione). My main research interests include eye tracking, vision-based perceptive interfaces, visual languages and communication, e-learning, user centered interface design, and Human-Computer Interaction in general.

Currently, I am also president of the didactic council of the interdepartmental programs CIM (Communication, Innovation, Multimedia, bachelor) and CoD (Digital Communication, master) of the University of Pavia, president of the COGAIN Association (COmmunication by GAze INteraction), and vice chair of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society's Technical Committee on Factory Automation.
