Biography
Dr. Khatri is a health system researcher with a focus on primary health care services, universal health coverage, and health equity. He has worked in the Nepalese health system as a paramedic (2002-2007). Later, he worked affiliating with different humanitarian organizations, including Adventist Development and Relief Agency, Plan International, and Save the Children in Nepal. He has long experience in research and health program management, mainly community-based reproductive, maternal, newborn, child health, adolescent, and nutrition programs. He advised the Nepalese Ministry of Health and Population to design and implement maternal and newborn health policies and programs. His research interests include implementation research, health service epidemiology/social epidemiology, health systems and services, health policy, governance, health equity, and universal health coverage, focusing on the primary health care approach. In addition, he is interested in health equity research and unpacking underlying factors of inequity in health that influence the multiple levels of the health system and beyond. He has published dozens of research papers in international peer-reviewed journals on several topics of public health significance.
