Biography
Laura MITREA (LM) has been a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Food Science and Technology of UASVM-CN, since March 2023. She acted as a Scientific Researcher at the Life Science Institute of UASVM-CN, from 2020 until 2023. LM received her Ph.D. in Biotechnology in 2020 at UASMV-CN. She holds a BSc in Food Products Control and Security and an MSc in Gastronomy, Nutrition, and Dietetics. During the doctoral stage, LM has activated as a research assistant in the ProGlyCom project (P_37_637, 2016-2020) dedicated to producing 1,3-propanediol and citric acid from industrial wastes. Between 2020-2022, LM was the director of a postdoctoral project involving the bioconversion of waste cooking oil into succinic acid (PN-III-P1-1.1-PD-2019-0679). LM is an active team member in national and international research projects: ERASMUS-EDU-2022-PI-FORWARD (GEEK4FOOD), SCAR (RTD/2021/OP/0001), COST Action Yeast4Bio (CA 18229), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (RIA4FOOD), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (FEEDACTIV), Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (FRIETS), Manunet III- Non-Act, Manunet II-TOMATOCYCLE) related to bioactive compounds recovery from industrial and food wastes, and she was also involved in projects related to the utilization of nanoparticles for the controlled release of bioactive compounds: PN-III-P1-1.1-TE-2019-1748; PN-III-P2-2.1-PED-2016-0627; PN-III-P1-1.2-PCCDI-2017-0056; PN-III-P1-1.1-TE-2016-0661; PN-III-P1-1.1-TE-2016-1907. Metrics: h-index: 18 (WOS), 2o (Google Scholar); 28 published articles; 5 international book chapters; 2 patents. Areas of competencies: microbiology, batch fermentations, biotechnological conversions, agro-industrial waste valorization, lipids transesterification, pre-/pro/symbiotics, and chemical characterization of bioactive compounds.
