Biography

I am a naturalist with experience in developmental and applied biology. My studies have been focused on the activity of transcription factors and the cross-regulation of different signalling pathways. The interest in developmental biology stems from the awareness that knowledge of biological processes involved in development, stemness and/or homeostasis will improve our understanding since their degeneration results in pathological processes such as cancer.
I have worked in several national and international institutions, and developed collaborations that have led to publication in peer-reviewed journals. Since I joined SZN I have been working with marine organisms to define biological responses to anthropogenic stresses and to characterize molecules or processes that may have a biotechnological application. I have also trained and carried out activities in the field of communication and dissemination
