Biography
Dr. Sara Bueno Fernández began her professional career in the pharmaceutical industry (Allergan Laboratory) in the areas of marketing and training and later as a clinical optometrist (Rementería Clinic), until 1998 when she began her career at the CEU San Pablo University as a professor of Contactology in the Diploma in Optics and Optometry, later converted into a Degree in Optics, Optometry and Audiology. At the same time she began her postgraduate studies, which led her to obtain the DEA (2004) and later the PhD (2012), with the grade of Outstanding Cum Laude, with the thesis entitled "Comparative study of visual function in pseudophakic patients". She has participated in 4 research projects, three of them funded, has 6 publications (Q1 and Q2) and more than 20 communications and posters in congresses (International and National), related to quality of vision, optometry, contactology and myopia control. In the postdoctoral stage, he has also co-directed 5 Doctoral Thesis, all of them graded with outstanding Cum Laude, and she is currently co-directing another Doctoral Thesis. From 2014 to date, she has participated as a member of 9 doctoral thesis tribunals of the Faculty of Optics and Optometry of the Complutense University of Madrid. She has supervised 9 Diploma Final Projects (2004 to 2008) and 33 Degree Final Projects (2009 to 2022). Since 2008 she has been collaborating as a lecturer at the Institute of Professional Studies ISEP CEU, in the Higher Training Cycle of Higher Technician in Prosthetic Audiology, teaching the modules of Auditory Anatomosensory Characteristics and Hearing and Verbal Communication and since 2016 in the Higher Training Cycle of Higher Technician in Pathological Anatomy, teaching the module of Management of Biological Samples.
