Biography

Rosário Domingues graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Coimbra (1990), received her Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (1998), and Habilitation in Biochemistry (2014) , University of Aveiro . Since 2016 she held the contract of associated professor with habilitations in the Mass Spectrometry Centre, Department of Chemistry, University of Aveiro (UA). She has over 25 years of research experience in the field of mass spectrometry, and is a well-established researcher in the field of lipidomics, glycomics and changes in biomolecules associated with oxidative stress monitored by mass spectrometry. She is one of the leaders of the Lipidomic Laboratory of the Mass spectrometry Centre of the UA.
She participated in several juries for academic examinations, scientific committees of congress, and in the supervision of 12 post-Doc, 20 Phd and 62 MsC students. She is the author of one book and six book chapters, more than 220 articles published in international journals with referee. She coordinated and participated in several research projects funded by national and European programs (18 in total). In the present, she is the coordinator at UA of two European projects, the project H2020-MSCA-ITN-2015 Innovative Training Networks (ITNH2020-MSCA-ITN-2015) “MASS spectrometry TRaining in Protein Lipoxidation ANalysis for Inflammation; MASSTRPLAN (Grant number 675132) and the project GENIALG - Genetic diversity exploitation for Innovative macro-algal biorefinery (ANR-15-MRSE-0015), Innovation actions BG-01-2016: Large-scale algae biomass integrated biorefineriesIn the last year she was invited editor of the special issue #” Marine Lipids 2017” of the Journal Marien Drugs.he already peer-reviewed articles for more than 40 journals. She is Vice Head of the Dep. of Chemistry and the Director of the Doctoral Program at UA.
