Biography
Professor Beata Morak-Młodawska is currently a full professor in Department of Organic Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Sosnowiec, Medical University of Silesia (Katowice, Poland).
Beata Morak-Młodawska studied in 1994-1999 at the Department of Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In September 1999, she defended her thesis with distinction, obtaining medal "Omnium Studiosorum Optimo" from Rector of the Silesian University of Technology.
She began working as an assistant in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Department of Laboratory Medicine in Sosnowiec of the Silesian School of Medicine in Katowice.
Ph.D thesis (2007) - written under the guidance of Prof. Krystian Pluta, School of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine in Sosnowiec, The Medical University of Silesia, Katowice.
The Habilitation (2017) – dissertation “Novel dipyridothiazines - synthesis, properties and biological profile “.School of Pharmacy with the Division of Laboratory Medicine in Sosnowiec, The Medical University of Silesia, Katowice.
Associate Professor 2019 – 2023 at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Organic Chemistry , The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.
Full Professor 2023 – at present at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Organic Chemistry , The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice.
Visiting Professor 2024 – at UCSI University, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Awards:
2003-2024 twenty 1st and 2nd degree group awards for scientific & organizations activity from Rector of SUM in Katowice, Poland.
2018 Individual award of the Minister of Health for her habilitation thesis.
2021 honored with the National Education Medal.
She specializes in organic synthesis of bioactive heterocycles, the author of numerous scientific articles in major scientific journals. Member of the Polish Pharmaceutical Society, the Polish Chemistry Society and the Polish Medical Chemistry Society. Collaboration with academic institution in Poland, Greece, USA, Malaysia, China.
