Biography

Xiao-Yu Hou, Ph.D., is tenured full professor in the School of Life Science and Technology at China Pharmaceutical University. She obtained her B.S. in Pharmaceutical Analysis from China Pharmaceutical University in 1992, her M.S. in Biochemistry from Xuzhou Medical University in 1998, and her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. She received a postdoctoral fellowship in the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Genetics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. She joined China Pharmaceutical University in 2019 from Xuzhou Medical University where she was the Dean of the School of Basic Medicine and the School of Biological Medicine, and the Director of the Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Brain Disease Bioinformation. Hou is also a Principal Investigator at the State Key Laboratory of Natural Medicines and her research is primarily focused on cellular and molecular mechanisms of ischemic brain disorders and Alzheimer’s disease, target identification and validation.
