Carlos Peraita

Biography (Date of birth: 1958; Place: Burgos, Spain)
After taking a BA in Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1975-1980), I joined the Department of Economics at the Universidad de La Laguna (Canary Islands) as an assistant professor (academic courses 1980-1982). I obtained my PhD in Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1983, Madrid, Spain). I have belonged to the Department of Economic Analysis at the Universidad de Valencia since 1983 as an assistant professor, and since 1986, I am an Associate Professor of Economics. I have been Chair of the Department of Economic Analysis at the Universidad de Valencia (1994-97), and I was a Visiting Scholar in Education at the Harvard University (academic course 1998-99). I currently teach microeconomics, and I am Teaching Excellence Award winner (institutional recognition, 2015). My research interests are in labor economics, human capital, schooling, skills training, earnings inequality, economics of the family, and corporate social responsibility.
