Biography

Renan Lira de Farias is a professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) in Brazil. His main research interests focus on discovering metallodrugs and developing biomaterials, where he collaborates with a diverse group of professionals to achieve research advancements.
Professor Farias possesses a background in the rational design of novel metallodrugs, alongside expertise in the synthesis and characterization of bioactive compounds utilizing a variety of techniques. He conducts biochemical assays to investigate the interactions between small molecules and targeted biomolecules. Furthermore, he is engaged in the development of modified bacterial cellulose membranes, aimed at enhancing biotechnological applications.
