Biography

I am an Astronomy researcher interested in how large scale shocks, from supernova remnants and cloud-cloud collisions shape the stellar content of our Galaxy. I am also interested in the physics and chemistry of Infrared Dark Clouds. During my career, I have been acquiring experience in both laboratory and observational research. I also lead the large observational project SHREC, to study the shock interaction between molecular clouds and supernova remnants. I am actively involved in student supervision. So far, I have supervised 2 Master Students, 17 Bachelor students, 4 summer students and I am currently involved in the work of 2 PhD students.I am extremely enthusiastic about my work and enjoy facing the many exciting challenges of frontier research.
