Biography

Researcher and project consultant with MSc degree and +30 years of career. Currently he is at FITec - Technological Innovations, Campinas - Brazil, as Senior Researcher and Data Scientist engaged with R&D projects for several sectors, e.g., electrical utilities, telecom, logistics and industry 4.0, and mainly involved in systemic issues related to Artificial Intelligence, Computational Intelligence, Digital Transformation, Engineering Asset Management, User Experience (UX) and Methodologies of Analysis. He is also a member of the FITec Technical-Scientific Council and Research Associate at Bios – Brazilian Institute of Data Science.
Among other professional experiences, he worked for 21 years at CPqD - Telecommunications Research and Development Center, where he served as Solutions Planning Manager and as Senior Researcher/Consultant, with great ability to strategic planning, interdisciplinary activities, problem analysis, team leadership and intercultural relations, as well as to communicate and produce technical and scientific papers.
In this trajectory, it was possible to build a wide base of experience in research and consulting related to digital technologies and R&D projects, including data science, methodologies of analysis, impact evaluation, media culture, performance and reliability evaluation. He has extensively worked with social, technical and economic dimensions of innovation project issues, applying his analytical skills to support decision-making processes and stakeholders in visualizing the impacts of new projects and technologies.
His current areas of interest include R&D, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence & Society, Predictive Analysis, Interpretable Machine Learning, Sociotechnical Innovation, UX, theory of complexity and systems thinking.
Author and coauthor of more than 80 publications (books, chapter of books, magazine articles and technical/scientific papers) and circa of 100 technical reports. Co-organizer of the books “Digital Cities in Brazil Map: A route for social inclusion” and "Poli.tic Methodologies: Evaluating Digital Policies".
