Biography
Dr. Marc Medrano is full professor in the Engineering School of the University of Lleida (UdL). He has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering, both at the Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona). In 2001 he was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship to spend three years at the University of California, Irvine in the Advanced Power and Energy Program to conduct research in building integration of advanced distributed power systems and in air quality impacts of distributed generation. In 2005 he was awarded a Ramon y Cajal research fellowship at the UdL and became associate professor in 2009. From September 2010 to August 2014 he was the director of the Centre for University Studies in Aviation (CESDA). His research lines include advanced thermal systems, energy optimization in buildings and industry, thermal energy systems and renewable cooling and heating. He has published more than 50 papers in SCI journals and has participated in more than 80 research projects. He has been referee for various scientific journals such as Solar Energy, International Journal of Refrigeration, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Journal of Power and Energy, Journal of Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Energy and is scientific evaluator of the Spanish National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP) since 2006. He has experience in international projects in the framework of several Tasks and Annexes of the International Energy Agency.
