Biography
Autobiography of Professor Jamiu Oladipupo AZEEZ
I was born in Mushin, Lagos in March 1972. From 1978 to 1984, I attended Saint Jude Anglican and Ajeabo Primary School, Mushin and then went to Ajumoni Secondary School, Iyana-Isolo, Mushin between 1984 to 1989, where I obtained Distinctions in science subjects at the West African School Certificate Examinations. I then studied Agriculture (Soil Science) at the prestigious University of Agriculture Abeokuta between 1990 and 2005. During these years, I obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture in 1997, Master of Agriculture (Soil Chemistry) in 2000 and PhD (Soil Science) in 2005.
Between 2002 and 2005, I was a research fellow at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, and I was also a post-Doctoral Fellow and later Visiting Scientist/Lecturer at the Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa between February 2009 and October 2010.
I taught at Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa as a visiting lecturer and currently hold the position of a lecturer and scientist at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. My principal research interests have been in Soil and Environmental Chemistry, Soil Fertility and Pollution Studies. I am a professor of Soil Chemistry and Principal Investigator in a collaborative research sponsored by Royal Society-DFID Africa Capacity Building Initiative Programme Awards in December, 2014 with a total value of One Million, One Hundred and Thirty-Two Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty-Two Pounds (£1,132,162.00). I was also a member, Steering Committee of the Nigeria Soil Health Consortium Southwest_Southsouth Node (SW_SS NgSHC) sponsored by Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA).
I have published over eighty articles in International peer reviewed and high impact journals and conference proceedings. I also review articles for over twenty-five journals and have supervised over thirty-eight post graduate students and over fifty undergraduate students.
