Biography
Omid is a final-year PhD candidate in Nutrition and Health Science at Technological University of the Shannon. His research primarily applies a mixed-methods approach to investigate parental adherence to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI)’s food-based and supplementation recommendations for vitamin D and iron in 1–5-year-old children.
Prior to coming to TUS, Omid worked as a Public Health Dietitian in the community health centers in his home country, providing dietary counseling and nutrition education for people in all age groups, as well as coordinating the supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and young children living in low-income families.
Omid’s research interests mainly center around maternal and child nutrition, diet quality, obesity, and functional foods. He has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has expertise in quantitative statistics, qualitative analysis, randomized controlled trials, and systematic reviews.
