Biography

Dr. Yi Xia received her B.S. and Ph.D degree in chemistry from Wuhan University. Then she undertook her postdoctoral research in medicinal chemistry at the Interdisciplinary Center on Nanoscience in Marseille (CINaM) in France. From 2012-2014, she worked at Vancouver Prostate Centre in Canada and pursued her research in cancer biology. Since September 2014, Dr. XIA has been recruited as a group leader at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chongqing University, and conduct her independent research at the interface of chemistry and biology. Her current research mainly centers around the chemistry and biology of novel drug candidates as well as the supramolecular assemblies with biological activity as drug self-delivery system. She has co-authored more than 40 scientific papers and 4 patents, including J. Med. Chem., Chem. Commun., Org. Lett., Cancer Lett., Chem. Rev., Drug Discov. Today etc., as well as coordinated and participated in more than 10 national and international projects. Dr. XIA has also been appointed as peer reviewer of more than 10 international scientific journals in chemistry, pharmaceutical science and biology, such as New J. Chem., Bioorg. Med. Chem. Lett., Eur. J. Org. Chem., Mol. Pharmaceut. and Cell Proliferat., etc. In 2016, she was awarded as Outstanding Reviewer for New Journal of Chemistry (RSC).
