Biography

Agricultural Engineer and Magister Scientiarum at the Faculty of Agronomy of the Central University of Venezuela. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at Botany and Plant Pathology Department of Purdue University, West Lafayette main campus, Indiana (USA).
Currently a teacher-researcher at the Center for Sustainable Development Studies at the Ecotec University, Samborondón (Ecuador), she teaches professional subjects at the Faculty of Engineering. She has also been a professor of the Master's Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness mention, at the University of Guayaquil, and the Master's Degree in Agronomy, Agro-sustainable Agriculture emphasis, at the Technical University of Manabí. She has been an advisor to the Institute for Innovation in Biotechnology and Industry (Dominican Republic). Since 2019, she has been a visiting professor at the National Autonomous University of Tayacaja (Peru).
She is the author or co-author of numerous indexed scientific articles, specialized informative articles, and several books or book chapters, and is part of the Board of Reviewers of prestigious scientific journals in molecular biology. She has also advised doctoral theses, master's of science, and undergraduate theses and received and trained numerous interns in the laboratory.
She has been the director of several R&D research projects dedicated to agricultural research; She has participated in numerous national and international research projects, three financed by the IDB, and two as Prometeo Researcher, financed by SENESCYT (Ecuador).
In published works and research projects, his lines of study have focused on the use of molecular markers for assisted selection in the improvement of plants' resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses and the increase in the efficiency of the work methodology with DNA.
