Biography

Aydar A. Ishmukhametov (date of birth 1957)
Graduated from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, majoring in General Medicine in 1980. Pursued residency and graduate studies. His area of expertise was related to approaches to the treatment of immuno-mediated diseases. Passed Cand. of Sci. defense on the study of circulating immune complexes in using hemosorption in patients with immune disorders in 1985. Has been working as a researcher at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University until 1987, and at O.N. Semashko 3rd Moscow Medical Dental Institute from 1987 to 1994.
The Head of Medical Programs, ITAR-TASS Information Fund of Target Programs from 1994 to 1998.
In 1997, Aydar A. Ishmukhametov set up and headed the information-analytical agency: medicine and pharmacy advisory services (monitoring of drug sales; information retrieval systems, marketing research; marketing authorization of drugs; drug launches on the Russian pharmaceutical market); issue of industry research and analytical journals included in the List of Higher Attestation Commission and educational literature.
Took an active part in the formation and development of the drug registry.
Initiated international projects on harmonization of pharmaceutical markets and regulatory documents of the CIS countries.
European Pharmacopoeia, US Pharmacopoeia, Merck Manual physicians were translated into the Russian language and published under his guidance.
In recent years, his research interests have been directed towards construction of organizational framework models for pharmaceutical care for population. Aydar A. Ishmukhametov passed Ph.D. defense on theoretical and methodological foundations of operation of pharmaceutical care systems for population as an integral part of healthcare organization in 2001. Prepared jointly with co-authors a textbook for universities “Pharmaceutical Marketing” for publication in 2005.
Continued his research activities at I.M.Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy as an associate professor, and then as a professor of Chair for Management and Economics and Pharmacy Faculty of Postgraduate Professional Education organization and management module in the area of drug circulation, and Head of Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Management Problems from 2000 to 2012.
Aydar A. Ishmukhametov was appointed as director of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immune-and-Biological Products of Russian Academy of Sciences” in 2013.
From the date of his appointment, the institution has been completely modernized, production has been set up in compliance with all quality parameters at all stages of biopharmaceuticals production cycle, and a GMP certificate has been obtained.
The business processes of the institution were reorganized, and the quality management principles were implemented in the biopharmaceutical manufacturers.
A quality risk analysis is carried out. The issues of import substitution are being addressed, innovative biopharmaceutical and immunological preparations are being developed and marketed. On his watch, the company increased sales of its products by 60%, and the export of drugs by 50%.

Aydar A. Ishmukhametov continues his research activities, his works are published in the leading medical Russian and foreign journals.
He is the chief editor of research medical journals, a member of the editorial boards of industry research publications. The author of more than 100 research publications, including monographs, advisor on PhD dissertations.
