Biography

Dr Xinwei Cheng is an experienced researcher in the area of chemical kinetics, combustion and flame for renewable fuel and natural gas. She received her Bachelor's degree (BEng (Hons)) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham Malaysia in year 2011. In the same year, she received the Dean's Scholarship from the University of Nottingham Malaysia to pursue her PhD studies. For her PhD research, she had successfully analysed the effects of unsaturation levels on the in-cylinder behaviours of ignition, combustion, soot formation/oxidation and other engine-out emissions for different biodiesel feedstocks, using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). She had also successfully formulated generic models of reduced chemical kinetics and thermo-physical properties for accurate and high fidelity CFD modelling applications of various in-cylinder combustion phenomena.
