Biography
I am a professor of physics at FIU Miami. I work in the field of extragalactic astrophysics and observational cosmology, with a specific interest in galaxy formation and evolution. My research is primarily focused on understanding how stars form within galaxies; why some galaxies cease forming stars; and how supermassive black holes (and AGN) impact the galaxies and cosmic environments in which they reside. I integrate multi-wavelength observations from ground and space-based telescopes, sophisticated cosmological simulations, and modern machine learning tools into my interdisciplinary research program. Ultimately, I want to understand how complexity forms and evolves in our Universe. In addition to research, I am currently lecturing 'Modern Astrophysics' (undergrad course) and will be lecturing 'Cosmology' (graduate course) in the Spring.
