Biography

Given the biomass and high starch content in duckweeds and maize seeds, we are trying to understand the starch accumulation temporally and spatially by interpreting their gene structure and their expression from high-throughput sequencing. We are also focusing on cloning, identifying gene functions by characterizing mutant or genetic engineering. We already built up the high-throughput sequencing and bioifnormatic analysis platform including experimental design, RNA-Seq analysis pipeline, genome assembly and annotation.
