Biography

A Saudi female medical scientist / educator, who was educated and trained in the UK, and presently working as professor of clinical biochemistry and clinical nutrition and head of “Nutrition and Metabolism” module at the faculty of medicine at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah. I have a wide experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration as an ex-vice dean for the faculty of medicine for two periods stretching over 11 years. I established the “Nutrition Research Unit” at king Fahd Medical Research Center in 2000, and the “Saudi Diabetes Study Research Group” in 2005, and is presently conducting research projects covering relationship between diet, lifestyle and chronic diseases. My interests include promoting environmental awareness, religious tolerance and world peace.
