Teresa Armada Brás

Biography

I am an environmental researcher with an interest in the climate change impacts, in particular from extreme weather events, on the energy and agricultural sectors. I gained scientific background on data-driven methodologies for time series analysis, and on multi-spectral optical data for land and urban climate applications. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Laboratory for Energy and Geology, in Portugal, and an Expert for the European Commission Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe Programmes.
From 2011 to 2016, I closely followed the evolution of the Portuguese space sector as the National Delegate to the Space Programme Committees of the European Space Agency (ESA), such as the Earth Observation Programme. I lived in Italy, from 2009 to 2011, while being an Earth Observation researcher at ESA-ESRIN. Previously Project Consultant at YDreams S.A.
I hold an MEng in Environmental Engineering, an MSc in Environmental Systems and Management, and a PhD in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies. I have 15 years of experience working in the Academia, Industrial, and Governmental sectors, in Portugal and abroad.
