Biography

K. V. Satish pursued his Ph.D. with a satellite remote sensing & forest ecology focus while working at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Satish is broadly interested in the application of geoinformatics in macroecology, biodiversity and conservation, forest management, biogeography, and climate change impact studies.

Satish has authored ~40 publications in peer-reviewed journals of renowned publishers (i.e. Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, etc.). He also published 4 books and several book chapters. Satish has delivered invited lectures at various renowned institutions (i.e. VIT Vellore, BIT Mesra, National Remote Sensing Centre, FCRI Hyderabad). Satish acted as a resource person, technical season speaker, and session chair at numerous conferences and workshops. Satish serves as a reviewer for several reputable journals (i.e. Biodiversity and Conservation, Geocarto International, Ecological Indicators, Anthropocene Science, The Plant Journal). Furthermore, he acted as a guest associate editor for the journal 'Frontiers in Forests and Global Change' from 2022 to 2023.
