Biography

I am interested in the mechanisms that regulate neuronal polarization and axon development. We are using advanced imaging and cell biology techniques to visualize and uncover the roles that polarized trafficking and organelle function play in neural development. We have uncovered a role for mitochondrial regulation of axonal branching during development via LKB1/NUAK1 mediated presynaptic capture. My current project is to study the roles of mitochondria during different stages of development.
