Dr. Mohammadbagher Sharifkazemi was born in Shiraz, a city in the south of Iran, in 1965. He would complete his medical education by 1989, internal medicine specialty by 1992, and cardiovascular subspecialty by 1996 at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (SUMS).
Dr. Sharifkazemi has spent most of the time since then improving his medical knowledge while working as an academic staff at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (1993 till now) in the South of Iran. His training includes Postgraduate training, scholarship in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing ( in 1999, for 4 months ) at Saint Louis University in the United States, interventional cardiology (non-accreditation) training at Lavasani Hospital in Tehran (Iran, 2003-2004), postgraduate training, scholarship in Electrophysiology and Pacing ( in 2005, for 6 months ) at Toronto University in Canada, one-year fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and pacing at Rajaie Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center Iran University of Medical Sciences (Iran) in 2008-2009. Adding to his qualifications, Dr Sharifkazemi also completed an MSc in Medical Ultrasound (Echocardiography) at Imperial College London in 2014-15 and is accredited with the European and British Society of Echocardiography. Moreover, he finished Postgraduate Course in Heart Failure (PCHF, 2019-2020), Zurich Heart House, and got certification for management of heart failure patients in Europe. He has also completed an MSc course at Galway university (Ireland) in interventional cardiology and Diploma/MSc in preventive cardiology at South Wales University, both in September 2021. His fellowship course in echocardiography at Tehran University of Medical Sciences finished at the end of February 2022.
As an associate professor of Medicine- Cardiology at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (Iran), Dr Sharifkazemi has published several articles which have added to the medical discourse.
